Friday24th January to Monday 3rd February.
A sneaky week to visit Steve, Kris, Lauren and Joshua leaving N to fend for himself !
Flight was from Bristol to Alicante and I caught the early morning, 5.45am (!) Beniconnect shuttle to the airport. I reckon that it was1970 when I last used Alicante airport - it’s grown a bit since then!
Flight, by Ryanair, was on time and we landed in Bristol at midday. Kris was there to meet me.
A busy but enjoyable week
Saturday was the lantern festival in Wells. There had been several lantern making workshops in the previous weeks. Lauren had made a cat and Josh a gingerbread man ( we’ll have to say they had considerable help from their parents!) We convened at the bandstand and paraded into the Bishops Palace grounds where we did a circuit before finishing in the square. There were a lot of people both parading with their lanterns and lookers on. A really good turn out for the event.
On Sunday Steve, Josh, Archie (dog) and I went to Weston super mare. It was wet, really wet, cold and windy quite a contrast to the beach in Moraira! Steve and Josh had waterproofs so they gambolled along with Archie on the beach. The rain eventually stopped so I got out of the car and we attempted a bit of kite flying. Lunch at Macdonads, oh dear, enough said.
Kris went to a conference in Amsterdam Monday to Friday.
Steve worked from home Tuesday and Wednesday. I met up with friend, Carole, for lunch in Wells on Wednesday. Thursday Steve had the day off and we went to the Sheppey pub in Godney on the Somerset levels.
Friday I picked up Kris from the airport.
A good week, lots of me time with the children. Good to to have some one to one time with Steve.
Josh started with chicken pox on Friday, a nice welcome home for Kris!
Neighbours Mary and ? came for lunch on Sunday. Steve made a fantastic meal, chicken pie was brilliant. My compliments to the chef!
Thank you to you both for having me, I tried to be as helpful as possible and relatively unobtrusive!!!
Taxi to airport on Monday and back home at 7pm.
